At 8 p.m. the last of the evacuees who had been escorted into their homes were back out of the fire area. More entries might be made tomorrow. Residents should check in at the Bison Center. Later tonight we will have a report from P.J. DiPentino on his trip into the area.
A GPS remapping of the area has reduced the number of acres in the fire area to 710 with the fire 35 percent contained. Firefighters made progress on containment along the south and east flanks of the fire and continued structure protection and pop-up around interior structures. The number of personnel assigned to the fire is now 557.

As crews readied for some strong overnight wind gusts, authorities announced the Reservoir Road Fire is now 35 percent contained and there was no growth on the fire on Tuesday.
