Sculpture in Loveland

Two of the grandest shows on earth are taking place in Loveland this weekend as artists from all over the world converge on the Sweetheart City. The Sculpture in the Park show is in its 27th year and features over 170 artists and 2,000 pieces of sculpture. The venue is Benson Park and the hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Across the street at Loveland High School is the 19th Loveland Sculpture Invitational. The hours are the same. The high school has the advantage of having a parking lot where you can save some walking and contribute $5 to the Loveland High School Art Club. The Loveland Sculpture Group, which sponsors this event has over 240 artists displaying their three dimensional art. From miniatures to monuments in every conceivable medium there is certainly something to delight anyone.

Each show is at least and all day event, so plan accordingly if you wish to see everything. There are free shuttle busses

Northwest at the King of Glory Church, 29th Street and Wilson Avenue

West at the City of Loveland Service Center, First Street and Wilson Avenue

Southwest from Thompson Valley Towne Center, Highway 402 and Taft Avenue

Northeast from Orchards Shopping Center, 29th Street and Highway 287

East side near Johnny Carino’s Restaurant, Rocky Mountain Avenue and US Highway 34

Below are a few of the images from the Sculpture Invitational showing the diversity of art on display.
