Sculpture in the Dark

Snow Sculptures and More…

Snow Sculpture Event and Street Festival to be held in Downtown Loveland

The event is planned for December 10-11, 2010 and will be held in downtown Loveland. Activities include a parade of lights, snow sculpting competition (December 8-11), an artisan show, entertainment, youth art project in conjunction with the Colorado Meth Project, sleigh rides with Santa and wagon rides for the family and more! Snow Sculptors who have competed internationally will magically transform 4th Street into a winter wonderland.

A preview of the snow sculpting event will be featured in Thompson Pocket Park (the park on 4th and Lincoln Street) during Winter Walk on December 4 in downtown Loveland.

The event was a fundraiser by the Namaqua Center until 2004 when it decided to no longer produce the Loveland holiday event for various reasons. Namaqua Center has granted Engaging Loveland the rights to produce the community event and bring it back to Loveland. “We would like to thank the Namaqua Center for allowing us to produce this Loveland community event,” said Kristine Koschke, Executive Director, Engaging Loveland. “We are excited to add this as another opportunity to promote Loveland and downtown.”

This event is free and open to the public. Sculpture in the Dark [1] is sponsored in part by McKee Medical Center/Banner Health and the City of Loveland For more information, sponsorship opportunities, artisan or parade applications or to volunteer, please contact Kristine Koschke, kristine@engagingloveland.org [2] .
