Obituary: Stephen Gerard Sanford

Stephen Gerard Sanford met his heavenly father face to face on March 28, 2011, as he peacefully passed away at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, after a hard-fought five-year battle with leukemia and lymphoma. He was born November 29, 1963 in Kingston, New York to Edward and Barbara Sanford. In 1965 the family moved to Boulder, Colorado and in 1971 moved to Berthoud, Colorado. The Berthoud Sagebrush Riders 4-H Club is seeking new members. There will be an informational open house at the Berthoud Area Community Center on Monday, January 17 at 6 p.m. Interested children and parents are invited to attend and find out what 4-H is about. 4-H is for city kids too. Larimer County Fair 4-H Stock Sale

The 4H Livestock sale is the last official event of the county fair. The bidding is active and usually the final price is well above the market price of the livestock. The highest priced sale is usually the Grand Champion Market Beef, and the 2010 Larimer County Fair was no exception as that heifer brought $6,000 for Danielle Mayer of Fort Collins. A day at the Fair

The Ranch was bustling on Saturday, the first full day of the 2010 edition of the Larimer County Fair. Tractors, splashing dogs, running pigs and plenty of venders lined the promenade as the carnival rides created a colorful back drop to the days activities. The livestock has moved into the Ranchway Feed Pavilions, the alpacas came on Saturday afternoon, the last animals to arrive. Pre-Fair activity at The Ranch

With he fair only a couple of days away, the Ranch still looks barren, but plenty is going on behind the scenes. The carnival area is just in the beginning stages, but it won’t take the carnival workers long to set up. Meanwhile, the 4-H kids have been bringing their exhibits in for judging and display setup.
