Berthoud Fire crews help in wildfire west of Loveland
A wildland fire was reported west of Loveland about noon on Thursday. The fire was near the city's water treatment plant near County Road 27 and 29, just north of US Highway 34. Fire crews from Berthoud joined Loveland, Fort Collins and Larimer County firefighters to help extinguish the blaze. A downed power line started the fire and left Big Thompson Elementary School and more than 300 homes in the Big Thompson Canyon without power.
