Spartans dominate at Soeby Classic

By Gary Wamsley The Soeby Classic was a showcase for the Berthoud Wrestlers on Saturday. The host team won four duals on their way to the team title. The Spartans bested Mitchell HS (64-15), The Academy (72-6), Widefield HS (55-15) and Greeley Central (45-22). In the 112 pound class, Alex Kingsley ranked at 12 this week won three matches loosing only to 11th ranked Gabe Padilla of the Academy. 48 Star Flag to be dedicated at Berthoud High School

Flag Dedication at Berthoud High School A piece of local history will be dedicated in the Berthoud High School auditorium on Friday, January 21, at 10:00 a.m. A 48-star American flag, which used to hang in the auditorium at the old Berthoud Junior-Senior High School, was recently returned to the high school after a 48-year absence. Lady Spartans win third straight game By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer A three-week layoff did not affect the Berthoud High girls basketball team on Friday night as they topped Mead 50-34 in the Berthoud High School gym. Berthoud Boys drop game to Mead

Zack Ruebesam scored 16 points in Berthoud's 47-55 loss to the Mead  Mavericks. The Spartans  are now 2-6 overall and 0-1 in league play. Berthoud Wrestlers place 5th at East Invitational

Berthoud will likely lose their number one ranking following their 5th place finish at the 50th East High School Invitational on Saturday. The second ranked Alamosa Maroons piled up 189 team points to the Spartans' 120 points. The high spots for Berthoud were Robby Workman who pinned his opponent to win the 135 pound class and J.T.
