Summer Eland, a Berthoud High School graduate of 2005 and founder of “A Touch of Summer” salon, returned this month from serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months in Florida. The Raptors did not give the Berthoud Spartans much to celebrate in Berthoud’s Homecoming Game. Silver Creek dominated the game and Berthoud rarely had possession in Raptor territory. The Berthoud defense stopped Silver Creek inside the 20-yard-line on several occasions, but the Raptors made most of their touchdowns on big plays. Raptor Quarterback Austin Apodaca frequently found his receivers open for big gainers while Silver Creek defenders nearly shut down Berthoud’s passing game. ... Full Story
Republicans in the Colorado State Senate issued the following news release: This Thursday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. Highway 56 from I-25 to Highway 287 will be renamed "Staff Sergeant Justin Bauer Memorial Highway" after the fallen soldier from Berthoud. This year the students are honoring Brad and Diny Pickert as the Homecoming Grand Marshals. Spartans win third in a row with late touchdown By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartan football team made their second trip of the season to the eastern plains on Friday night for a contest with the Fort Morgan Mustangs at Legion Field.
