Summer Eland, a Berthoud High School graduate of 2005 and founder of “A Touch of Summer” salon, returned this month from serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months in Florida. She will report of her service at two separate meetings in Berthoud, Sunday morning, October 17 – at 9:00 a. m. at the Berthoud Ward, and at 11:00 a. m. at the Twin Peaks Young Single Adult Ward. The Raptors did not give the Berthoud Spartans much to celebrate in Berthoud’s Homecoming Game. Silver Creek dominated the game and Berthoud rarely had possession in Raptor territory. The Berthoud defense stopped Silver Creek inside the 20-yard-line on several occasions, but the Raptors made most of their touchdowns on big plays. Spartans win third in a row with late touchdown By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartan football team made their second trip of the season to the eastern plains on Friday night for a contest with the Fort Morgan Mustangs at Legion Field. The Berthoud High School soccer team continues to roll with its high scoring  and solid defense, winning over Holy Family High School 5 - 0. The Spartans have won all three games played against non-conference opponents with 20 goals scored and only 4 goals against. The team shows great balance as indicated by goals by Jano Beltran, Tavo Beltran, Martinius Karlsen and two by Axel Ayala while Goalie Alex Hughes made seven saves at the Berthoud goal.
