The Berthoud High School Cheer Squad entertained the crowd with a Half-Time performance at this week’ girls basketball game against Broomfield. A look at the Cheer schedule will give you a hint of how much time these girls put in. They have almost no days off as they “work” every game of every sport. The Berthoud High School Winter Concert, "Sounds of the Season," was a delight to the ear on Thursday. The Berthoud High School Bridge-Between Choir has a delightful Christmas program based on a story about one of Santa’s elves. The choir has been spreading cheer by entertaining residents of assisted living facilities in the surrounding communities. Obituary: Melissa Klepac Golay

Melissa Klepac Golay, 49, passed away due to cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. She was a 1978 graduate of Berthoud High School. Golay is survived by her husband Troy; daughters Jessica and Jennifer; son Benjamin, 8; grandchildren, and parents Ben and Mary Jane; and sister Janet. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Platteville Recreation Center, 508 Reynolds Ave., Platteville. Cheryl Ann Scott, 55, of Fort Lupton peacefully passed away on May 20, in her home. She was born on April 7, 1954, in Chicago to Richard and Beverly Bacus. Scott graduated from Broomfield High School in 1972 and also attended the Barnes Business School in Denver.
