Scoring in the Berthoud Girls game was similar to the boys game. The Lady Spartans out scored the Sabercats 37 to 20 in the first half and held on to win 56 - 50. Spartan Boys Top Fossil Ridge 75 to 60

The Spartan varsity took a commanding lead in the first quarter, out scoring Fossil Ridge nearly 5 to 1. The Spartans dominated the boards and forced several turnovers and moved the ball quickly into scoring position. Fossil Ridge managed to score 15 points in the second period but Berthoud put down 20 and led 43-20 at the half. The Berthoud High School Winter Concert, "Sounds of the Season," was a delight to the ear on Thursday. Obituary: Melissa Klepac Golay

Melissa Klepac Golay, 49, passed away due to cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. She was a 1978 graduate of Berthoud High School. Golay is survived by her husband Troy; daughters Jessica and Jennifer; son Benjamin, 8; grandchildren, and parents Ben and Mary Jane; and sister Janet. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Platteville Recreation Center, 508 Reynolds Ave., Platteville. Cheryl Ann Scott, 55, of Fort Lupton peacefully passed away on May 20, in her home. She was born on April 7, 1954, in Chicago to Richard and Beverly Bacus.
