  Joshua James Ehlers, 24, of Berthoud, died suddenly September 23, 2011 in Aurora.  He was born March 4, 1987 in Bismarck, North Dakota to James H. and Juanita J. (Kurle) Ehlers. HAYS, KS -- Several area students have accepted scholarships to attend Fort Hays State University for the 2011-2012 academic year. Robert Workman, a 2011 Berthoud High School graduate, accepted a $700 Fort Hays Bronze Academic Award. Workman is the son of Rob and Laurie Workman, Berthoud, Colo.   The Berthoud High Class of 2008 honored retiring Principal Leonard Sherman by giving him stones on which they had painted a personal message. The tradition of "palming" something to Sherman as the graduation seniors shook his hand on the stage had gone on for many years and on this final year the class members created hand painted stones of remembrance.
