Berthoud Athlete Signs with Mount Marty College

Incident activity for October 2013 Tuesday, October 8 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. This was a single vehicle rollover accident with no injuries. BFPD responded with TVEMS to a report of a track runner who had fallen and had a seizure at Berthoud High School. The patient’s mother was contacted and arrived on scene. Donald Eugene Dortch, 89 years old, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, passed away on Oct. 14, 2013. Donald was born in Berthoud Colorado Oct. 3, 1924, to the late Finley and MaryAnn Dortch. Donald graduated from Berthoud High School, joined the army and served in WWII. Donald served in the US Army, receiving the Victory Medal in WWII, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and 4 Bronze Stars for major battles. Kenneth Roy Krieger, 74, of Berthoud, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 in Loveland, Colorado from a heart related illness. Kenny was born January 11, 1939 at the family home in Berthoud to Conrad and Leora (Dreith) Krieger. He graduated from Berthoud High School in 1957. This farm boy found his way to Chicago, where he worked for Midway Airlines and met his future bride, Judith M. Petre of East Aurora, NY.
