  The Berthoud High Class of 2008 honored retiring Principal Leonard Sherman by giving him stones on which they had painted a personal message. The tradition of "palming" something to Sherman as the graduation seniors shook his hand on the stage had gone on for many years and on this final year the class members created hand painted stones of remembrance. Now a somewhat larger stone will honor the long serving former principal. The "Leonard Sherman Stone" will be dedicated in a ceremony ... Full Story

Boys team Finishes in Sixth Place By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud girls track and field team continued their outstanding 2011 season at the Patriot League Championships hosted at Platte Valley High School on Friday afternoon. The Lady Spartans took first place in team competition with 152.50 points, winning six separate events. The boys team finished in the middle of the pack in sixth place after tallying 60.50 points. The Berthoud Girls Soccer team was eliminated from the playoffs by Alexander Dawson. The Mustangs were  seeded #14 and defeated the #19 Spartans by a score of 7 -0.
