    Owen Michael Nee was born at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s Family Birthing Center on October 23 at 3:04 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and measured     20 inches long. Owen’s parents are Lawrence and Sarah Nee of Buena Vista. He has a sister, Rylan, 19 months.   Marlene Laura Hoffmann, 74, of Berthoud, died October 15, 2012 at her home. She was born July 19, 1938 in Leicester, New York to Thomas L. and Dorothy I. (Gilliland) Walsh. Marlene lived in Ogden, New York before moving to Berthoud. While in New York she met George A. Hoffman, they were married in Rochester on April 26, 1958. Obituary: Emma Louise Dreith

  Emma Louise Dreith, 85, passed away Oct. 8, 2012 surrounded by four generations of family that loved her. Emma was born January 27, 1927 in Loveland, Colorado to Nellie and Thomas Parsons. After high school Emma married Reuben P. Dreith on Nov. 14, 1943 in Loveland. Emma and Reuben managed their family dairy farm west of Berthoud until 1975. They then moved into the Milner-Schwarz house at the Larimer County Fairgrounds where Reuben was the fairgrounds maintenance supervisor. ... Full Story

        To the Editor, On behalf of the Berthoud Community Library District staff, I would like to thank the Friends of the Berthoud Community Library for all the financial support they give the Library. So far this year the group has given the Library $1845.00. This money funded the summer reading program for teens, supplemented our DVD budget, and paid for staff continuing education.
