Charles L. Winston, 85 of Berthoud, Colorado passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Paonia Care and Rehab Center in Paonia, Colorado, with his family by his side. Charles was born on August 4, 1926 to Roy L. and Flora E (Bender) Winston in Mission Creek Township, Kansas. The family moved to Berthoud in 1935 from Topeka, Kansas. Timothy Allan Eisenbraun, 48, passed away Oct 26 at his home in Berthoud. He was born Sept 9, 1963 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Allan and Nancy Eisenbraun, welcomed home by a sister Annette. Tim grew up in Custer, South Dakota and Loveland, Colorado. He graduated from High School in Loveland. Tim worked various jobs for years before becoming disabled from heart disease. Small steps can make positive changes. Is is time to change the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Tragically, home fires kill 500 children ages 14 and under each year. In the U.S., almost two-thirds of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes without working smoke alarms. Forty percent of the fatal fire injuries occurred in homes with no smoke alarms at all, while 23% occurred in homes in which at least one smoke alarm was present but failed to operate. The ... Berthoud The Berthoud High School softball team won each of their state tournament playoff games on Friday and, for the second consecutive year, will advance to the 3A State semi-finals. The Lady Spartans toppled Holyoke 7-2 in the Round 1 game before beating second-seed Holy Family 13-8 in the quarter-final game. Berthoud will face off against Rocky Ford at 10:00am Saturday morning at Aurora Sports Park.
Vollitude Volleyball Club, LLC is a new volleyball club located in the Northern Colorado area. They are forming two girls teams for the 2012 club season - one at 17's and one at 12's. They hope to grow the club and have additional teams in the future.
