  Berthoud Police Beat — April/May, 2011   Friday, April 1 Police came across an abandoned vehicle on Highway 56 near I-25 at 12:52 a.m. The vehicle appeared to be inoperative. The Joe to Go building was shot with paint balls sometime during the previous night. A large black dog was reported running loose near the Guaranty Bank but the officer was unable to locate the animal. A public meeting to address bullying and suicide

A public meeting will be held to address bullying and suicide prevention in the Berthoud schools following a recent suicide. In attendance will be regional bullying and suicide prevention experts and concerned citizens.  School administrators and members of the local and surrounding police departments have been invited. May 3, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Berthoud Area Community Center, 248 Welch Ave., Berthoud.

Harmon arrested in Johnstown

The Larimer County Sheriff's Department is reporting Berthoud police have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery in Laramie, Wyoming.  The sheriff's department says 22 year old Rayburn Scott Harmon was arrested in Johnstown without incident. Harmon was wanted for an alleged robbery in Laramie and and was also accused of stealing a 2006 Cadillac Escalade that he reported sinking into Carter Lake last Monday after he had taken it for a test drive from a Berthoud auto ...   People who drive past Riverglenn on County Road 17 are usually treated to the sight of a pair of swans swimming in Treena and Dave Milano’s pond. This week however, the swans are usually sequestered in their enclosure. The reason, on Tuesday the pen hatched three of the five eggs in her clutch and Milano was worried that the foxes and coyotes that frequent the area might find the cygnets a tasty meal. LARAMIE, Wyo. — Police in Laramie, Wyo., are looking for a man suspected of stealing from a Walmart in Laramie and stealing a vehicle in Colorado. Police say 22-year-old Rayburn Scott Harmon is believed to be driving a stolen black 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The Rawlins Daily Times reports Harmon is accused of failing to return the Escalade to a car dealership in Berthoud, Colo., after taking it for a test drive.
