To the Editor, As a citizen of the Berthoud community, I am increasingly concerned about the issues arising in our town. I am particularly disappointed in the Town’s process that led to the annexation of the Haworth property west of County Road 19. This property was outside of Berthoud’s Comprehensive Plan for growth when the Town Board enticed the owners to apply for annexation. Leslie Shawn Baird, 42, of Berthoud, Colorado, passed away suddenly Saturday, February 1, 2014. He was born June 14, 1971 in Greeley, Colorado to Gary and Katherine (Katie) Baird. He attended schools in Loveland and Johnstown. Shawn lived his whole life in the northern Colorado area. Shawn faced many challenges in life and never complained about any of his burdens.
