Berthoud Library: your personal office

So you’ve just downloaded and printed your kid’s Little League roster, and now you have just ten minutes to scan it and then email it to the other fifteen members on her team. Or, maybe you need to copy and fax your insurance claim so you can get that reimbursement check before the end of the month. Or, maybe your third grade report about flora has some cross outs and you’re desperate for some White-Out, in addition to a paper clip and a color printer so your cover does justice to the ... Vote No on 241

Vote No on 241

Dear Editor, I am a fifth generation Larimer County native, one generation removed from the cattle business. I am concerned about Berthoud’s unneeded Growth Management Area (GMA) expansions and annexations outside of existing GMA boundaries. Berthoud’s current GMA is over 24,000 acres in size. Berthoud currently has 10,712 lots in some type of planning review (enough for a population of well over 30,000 people). The current GMA is large enough to make Berthoud similar in population ... Haworth Annexation

Haworth Annexation

To the Editor, As a citizen of the Berthoud community, I am increasingly concerned about the issues arising in our town. I am particularly disappointed in the Town’s process that led to the annexation of the Haworth property west of County Road 19. This property was outside of Berthoud’s Comprehensive Plan for growth when the Town Board enticed the owners to apply for annexation. The issue that I have with this annexation has nothing to do with the family who owns that land. To ... Full Story

Town Board doesn’t get it

Town Board doesn’t get it

Dear Editor: The Berthoud Town Board does not get it. They just voted to sell the town property where the BMX track is located, once the site of a future rec center. They did not ask the taxpayers who own the property what they would like to see built there. It was purchased in 2000, but now the Town has other land for a rec center. The profit from selling the old property will be put in the rec center fund. The property is zoned for multi family (R-3), which makes sense close to the ... Full Story
