General Information/Announcements Firefighters continue to make good progress on containing the Reservoir Road fire.  This afternoon, the Larimer County Sheriff announced that all residents would be allowed to return home.  Residents are asked to avoid driving on the roads early in the morning and in the evening during shift changes by firefighters. Reservoir Road Evacuees get to go home.

Amid cheers of the crowd, Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden told the evacuees that they could go home today. He had some cautions for residents. He asked that they limit driving during the hours of 6 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., peak hours for fire crews as they change shifts. “Do not call 911 if you see smoke,” he said. At 8 p.m. the last of the evacuees who had been escorted into their homes were back out of the fire area. More entries might be made tomorrow. Residents should check in at the Bison Center. Later tonight we will have a report from P.J. DiPentino on his trip into the area. A GPS remapping of the area has reduced the number of acres in the fire area to 710 with the fire 35 percent contained. Obituary: Virginia Marie Stokes

Virginia (Ginny) Marie Stokes, 86, of Loveland died September 9, 2010. Ginny was born October 1, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Gottfried and Molly (Salzman) Bauer. She spent her youth in Lincoln attending Lincoln High. In September of 1942 she married the love of her life, Maynard Stokes. In 1958 she and Maynard moved to Colorado with their two sons, Roland and Arlen. After initially moving to Boulder they lived in Longmont, rural area west of Berthoud, and finally in ... Full Story

Noon: Beginning at 3 p.m. today the sheriff's department will escort groups of 10 to 12 vehicles into the area. The residents will be give 30 minutes to gather belongings and tend to their property and then will be escorted out.  The escorted trips will continue until 7 p.m., conditions permitting.
