Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for October 2010 Friday, October 1 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. There were six vehicles involved in a rear end type accident. There was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries were reported. Pearl W. Wykoff, 91, of Loveland and formerly Berthoud, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Loveland Good Samaritan Village Health Care. Pearl was born on Oct. 6, 1919, in Ness City, Kan., to Thomas H. and Edith Annette (Tarman) Wierman. She met and later married Ellis C. Wykoff in Ness City on Oct. 30, 1937, and moved to Berthoud in 1949 from Bazine, Kan. Ellis preceded Pearl in death on July 23, 2002. Frances L. Prock of Berthoud, died October 26, 2010 at Northern Colorado Acute/Long Term Hospital, Johnstown. She was 73. Fran was born on October 5, 1937 in Great Falls, Montana to Otto Sagebaum and Lillian Laiture Sagebaum. Raised on the family ranch near Stockett, Montana, she was introduced to hard work at an early age. Letter to the Editor: B. J. Nikkel is not the advocate for taxpayers and children that she claims to be. First of all, you don’t file to sue the Larimer County Sheriff’s office for $10 million putting the screws to the county taxpayers on the expectation that your son’s arrest charges will be reduced. It came as a complete surprise for Berthoud resident Denise Schump when she was called to the stage at Lucile Erwin Middle School at a special assembly on Tuesday. She had been nominated for special recognition by Blake Martin, a student in her eighth grade class.
