Marilyn Elaine White, 59, of Berthoud, CO, died on February 10, 2010 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. She was born on October 7, 1950 in Greeley, CO, to Chester Herman and Agnes Marian (Anderson) Stevens. Marilyn graduated from Loveland High School. On December 6, 1969, in Loveland, CO, she married Orman L. “O.L.”White. Marilyn worked as a homemaker and later, after the kids had grown, she worked outside the home, doing companion care. There is a new fitness center in town. It is located at the west end of what is commonly referred to as the Hays Market shopping center. This center joins two other Snap Fitness centers in the area, one in Firestone, and the other in Fort Collins. The new operation is owned by Milo Carley, who operates the Fort Collins club. “Cow Dung Dust,” is Rick Padden’s latest play. Padden is the playwright for Berthoud’s newest theater venture, The Moon Theater Company, and will perform a staged reading of his new play at the Berthoud Foursquare Church this Evening. The play is about a group of hitchhikers who get a ride in the back of a cattle truck driving along Route 66. The reading is at 7 p.m., Friday, February 5. The admission charge is $5.

These Canada Geese made a rest stop at the Wagner Farm Park on Monday morning. Berthoud lies along the Central Flyway, a migratory route for the geese. This flock consists of early migrators flying north following the melting snowline. Their destination is the nesting grounds in Canada.
