Berthoud’s own Marie Andrade Allison has begun her year as the 2010 Boulder County Fair and Rodeo’s Lady- in-Waiting in earnest this week at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. Crowned this past September, Marie will serve one year as the Lady in Waiting, followed by a year as the 2011 Boulder County Fair and Rodeo Queen. Win half a beef The Berthoud Wrestling Club is raffling off half a beef. All proceeds will go to the club to use for the kids. The tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. The winner will have to pay for the butchering of the calf, approximately $250. The drawing will take place on January 9, 2010 and tickets will be on sale until then. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Nov. 23-29 Tuesday, Nov. 24 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. This was a three-car accident with no injuries reported. Thursday, Nov. 26 BFPD responded to a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. The Foothills Audubon Club will meet Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Berthoud Community Center, 248 Welch Avenue, Berthoud. Marion Anderson passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2009 at Hospice Care Center of Boulder/Broomfield County in Louisville after a short illness. She was born May 24, 1936 to John and Rosie Brehmer in Bancroft, Neb., the fifth child born to the family, which grew by three more children over the next several years. Anderson was very active in school growing up, being a cheerleader and homecoming queen and graduating from Bancroft High School. She married Robert Eugene Andersen on Nov. 7, 1954. ... Full Story
