The 4H Livestock sale is the last official event of the county fair. The bidding is active and usually the final price is well above the market price of the livestock. The highest priced sale is usually the Grand Champion Market Beef, and the 2010 Larimer County Fair was no exception as that heifer brought $6,000 for Danielle Mayer of Fort Collins. The County Fair Parade took place a couple days before the official opening, but the activities had started even before that as 4-H kids were busy setting up exhibits and competing in the equine events. Here the Berthoud Highlanders 4-H Club took time to enter the parade. The Larimer County Fair is over but the memories linger. The midway was open and many people enjoyed the activities. Robert Eugene Andersen - (b. October 12, 1928), passed away peacefully on August 6th, 2010 after a short illness from end stage prostate cancer. Robert was born on a farm in Rosalie, Nebraska to Emanuel and Anna Christensen Andersen. Robert was the youngest child born to the family of nine children. Robert worked on the family farm growing up and graduated high school in Rosalie. He continued to work the farm until he married Marion Brehmer on November 7th, 1954. They moved to a farm in ... Nine-year-old Phillip DiPentino, known locally as the Flying Meatball, took top honors in his age group with gold, silver and bronze medals.
