By P.J. DiPentino Aug 7, 2010 Three local BMX riders competed in the Rocky Mountain State Games last weekend in Colorado Springs. All three come home from the three-day event with medals. Nine-year-old Phillip DiPentino, known locally as the Flying Meatball, took top honors in his age group with gold, silver and bronze medals. Realities for Children Poker Run comes to Berthoud

Fickel Park will be seeing 3,000 motorcyclists on Sunday, May 30. It is all part of the Realities for Children motorcycle rally and poker run. There will be music and refreshments and Berthoud folks are welcome to attend. Realities for Children is dedicated to serving the unmet needs of abused and neglected children in Larimer County. Alex Sabados, 14, died March 24, 2010 at his home following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 26, 1996 in Boulder to David and Julia (Stepniowska) Sabados. Alex attended Berthoud Elementary school and was currently in the 8th grade at Turner Middle School in Berthoud. Alex was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 6 in Berthoud, and RMR BMX Team in Berthoud. A wonderful, fun loving and happy boy, his family ...
