Reservoir Road Fire now 35% contained

At 8 p.m. the last of the evacuees who had been escorted into their homes were back out of the fire area. More entries might be made tomorrow. Residents should check in at the Bison Center. Later tonight we will have a report from P.J. DiPentino on his trip into the area. A GPS remapping of the area has reduced the number of acres in the fire area to 710 with the fire 35 percent contained. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for August 2010 Sunday, August 1 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Hays Market on Mountain Ave. A vehicle had hit part of the structure but no damage was done to the building. The driver was transported. Tuesday, August 3, BFPD assisted with a medical call on North 83rd Street for a patient having breathing difficulties due to a fall earlier that morning. Volunteer rangers needed on the Ranger Boat

Larimer County Natural Resources boat rangers have created an opportunity for Larimer County residents to assist at both Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir. Boat rangers educate visitors about regulations, safety, and help with emergencies out on the reservoirs. Boat Ranger volunteers must be able to swim, be willing to work a five hour shift on the boat (option for longer shifts), and have some experience either with boats or law enforcement as well as great customer service ...
