NISP debate heats up
Please accept this letter on behalf of Troy Bredenkamp, Executive Vice President of the Colorado Farm Bureau. In their recent letter about the Northern Integrated Supply Project, Save The Poudre’s leaders Gary Wockner and Mark Easter don’t use facts, but only distorted opinions to suggest NISP is a hazard to agriculture. Colorado Agriculture Groups Comment on Proposed Plover
The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) recently proposed listing the mountain plover as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Citing agriculture, oil and gas, and other alleged threats, a listing would severely affect agriculture activities in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. Parts of northeastern Utah, Western Kansas, northeastern Arizona and northwestern Texas could also be affected. Colorado agriculture groups quickly responded to the proposed listing.
