Falcons Lose 2-1 Pitcher’s Duel Saturday At Utah

SALT LAKE CITY - Air Force baseball was held to three hits in a 2-1 loss at Utah in Mountain West Conference action Saturday afternoon at Spring Mobile Ballpark. The Falcons dropped to 11-14, 0-2 on the season while the Utes improved to 10-9, 4-1. Sophomore right-hander Sean Carley (2-3) turned in his second complete game of the year in the tough-luck loss. Cal Poly 6, Air Force 1 in men’s tennis

The Air Force men’s tennis team wrapped up competition on its spring break trip to Hawaii Friday with a 6-1 loss to 40th-ranked Cal Poly in Waipahu. The Falcons went 1-3 this week and are now 9-6 this season. The Mustangs took the doubles point with wins at the top two spots. AFA won the No. 3 match as freshmen Andy Jackson and Alex Grubbs downed Brian McPhee and Drew Jacobs, 9-8(5), at No. 3. Cal Poly won five of the six singles matches, four of them in straight sets. Yale beats Air Force, 2-1, in overtime

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Chad Ziegler scored at 3:16 of overtime as third-ranked Yale, the top overall seed in the tournament, defeated 20th-ranked Air Force, 2-1, Friday, March 25, in the NCAA East Regional at Webster Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn. SALT LAKE CITY - A botched pickoff throw helped lead to Air Force baseball’s 5-3 loss at Utah in its Mountain West Conference opener Friday night at Spring Mobile Ballpark. The Falcons dropped to 10-12, 0-1 on the season while the Utes improved to 9-9, 3-1. The Air Force men’s tennis team halted a three-match losing streak with a 5-2 victory over Hawaii-Hilo Thursday in Waipahu, Hawaii. With the victory, Air Force improved to 9-5 this spring. UHH opened the match by winning the doubles point. Air Force did, however, win the No. 2 doubles match as senior Taylor Soster and freshman Lucas Marin-Salcedo downed Ryan Coffey and Bryan Canavan, 8-4. WICHITA, Kan. - Air Force baseball dropped a 6-0 contest at #24 Wichita State Wednesday afternoon at Eck Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 11-12 on the season, while the Shockers improved to 15-6. Five Wichita State pitchers combined to shutout the Falcons, scattering eight hits. The University of Hawai`i men's tennis team handed Air Force its second loss in as many days with a 7-0 win over the Falcons Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 3-8 on the season, while the Falcons fell to 8-5. Hawai’i opened with wins at all three doubles matches to claim a 1-0 lead. WICHITA, Kan. - Air Force baseball dropped a 10-2 contest at #24 Wichita State Tuesday night at Eck Stadium.
