  A group of Greeley Firefighters will be collecting toys on Saturday, Dec. 3, for the Firefighters for Santa program. Volunteer of the month: Carissa Finnegan

Carissa Finnegan is a freshman at Berthoud High School. One of her Facebook friends is family friend who is serving as a nurse in Kigali, Rwanda. Carissa was amazed at some of the photos her friend posted. The children in her photos did not have many toys or books and hardly had clothes to wear. Carissa wanted to do something to help those children. She set up an event on Facebook and asked for donations to purchase items to send to the kids in Kigali. Unfortunately, the response was ... Santa Clause goes to school

The children at the Berthoud Early Learning Center had a surprise visitor this week. Santa came to the school twice on Wednesday, handing out gifts to the morning and afternoon classes. The children were definitely excited and happy to see Santa and to receive gifts. A gift for each child is made possible by the generosity of the employees of the town of Berthoud.
