Alicia Lentz dies at Denver Hospital

Denver   Alicia Lentz, a 2009 graduate of Berthoud High School and a student at the University of Northern Colorado, died Wednesday at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver, a hospital spokeswoman said Friday. Lentz was a junior studying ecology and evolutionary biology. The UNC Mirror reported that Lentz died of a brain aneurysm. She played mellophone in the Pride of the Rockies marching band. Obituary: Stephen Gerard Sanford

Stephen Gerard Sanford met his heavenly father face to face on March 28, 2011, as he peacefully passed away at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, after a hard-fought five-year battle with leukemia and lymphoma. He was born November 29, 1963 in Kingston, New York to Edward and Barbara Sanford. In 1965 the family moved to Boulder, Colorado and in 1971 moved to Berthoud, Colorado. Tragedy in Berthoud

Slightly less that a year after the death of Alex Sabados, Turner Middle School students face yet another tragedy. The Sheriffs Department said that they were called to rural Berthoud on Friday morning to the scene of an unattended death. In a letter sent to parents, Principal Bill Siebers had this to say, Dear TMS Parents/Guardians It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that one of our Turner Students, Nicole Bauer,  passed away this morning.
