Local High School Team wins robotics trophy

Three Berthoud teams of robotics whiz kids competed in the VEX Robotics World Championship at Disney World last week. Nearly 10,000 middle school, high school and university students from 16 countries participated in the event. Round Up, the 2010-2011 VEX Robotics Competition Game, is played on a 12’x12’ square field where two alliances composed of two teams each compete against one another. Obituary: Stephen Gerard Sanford

Stephen Gerard Sanford met his heavenly father face to face on March 28, 2011, as he peacefully passed away at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, after a hard-fought five-year battle with leukemia and lymphoma. He was born November 29, 1963 in Kingston, New York to Edward and Barbara Sanford. In 1965 the family moved to Boulder, Colorado and in 1971 moved to Berthoud, Colorado. Tragedy in Berthoud

Slightly less that a year after the death of Alex Sabados, Turner Middle School students face yet another tragedy. The Sheriffs Department said that they were called to rural Berthoud on Friday morning to the scene of an unattended death. In a letter sent to parents, Principal Bill Siebers had this to say, Dear TMS Parents/Guardians It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that one of our Turner Students, Nicole Bauer,  passed away this morning.
