Larimer County Adopts Fire Restrictions on Open Fires
Larimer County, Colorado – The Board of Larimer County Commissioners adopted fire restrictions on Open Fires and Fireworks beginning immediately and continuing through November 1, 2010. These restrictions are based on a recommendation from Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden in light of dry conditions and prohibit the use of: Open fires and fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Larimer County. Some access for evacuees of Reservoir Road Fire
Noon: Beginning at 3 p.m. today the sheriff's department will escort groups of 10 to 12 vehicles into the area. The residents will be give 30 minutes to gather belongings and tend to their property and then will be escorted out. The escorted trips will continue until 7 p.m., conditions permitting. Fire caused by resident burning leaves and twigs Chief Merlin Green of the Loveland Fire Department began Monday afternoon's press conference by saying the fire has covered 900 acres and is 20 percent contained. The fire, while not as active as yesterday, is still quite active. The most active area of the fire is moving to the west-northwest.
