Eagles Win Nail-Biter Over Bees in 500th Game
Photos by Hector Acevedo LOVELAND, Colo. - In the 500th regular season game in franchise history, the Colorado Eagles defeated the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, 5-4. The win put Colorado in sole possession of first place in the Turner Conference and made their all-time record against the Bees (who entered the league in the same season) 10-1-0. Schmidt’s Bakery closed down, again
According to an employee, agents of the Colorado Department of Revenue entered the Loveland Schmidt's Olde Time Bakery this morning and locked the doors and then asked the customers to leave. Employees were give time to put food back into freezers and coolers and then they too had to leave. Apparently, the deal struck last year to allow the popular restaurant to reopen had fallen through. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles defeated the Wichita Thunder, 5-4, in overtime, and in the process, clinched their eighth playoff berth in as many seasons of existence (more than a full month before the regular season ends). To the Editor, I watched in amazement as the young people of Egypt peacefully arose to overturn their country’s dictatorship. LOVELAND, Colo. - The Missouri Mavericks scored three goals in the third period to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 7-4, capping off a three-games-in-as-many nights series between the teams that had a fitting playoff feel.
