Thompson School District names Rastatter to Special
Dennis Rastatter, Thompson School District director of Student Support Services, has been selected to become the new director of Special Education for the District. He will replace Karen Pielin, who is retiring at the end of the 2009-2010 school year. Rastatter has served as the director of Student Support Services for the district since 2005 and was the assistant director of Special Education from 2003 to 2005. Gertrude Ellen Beckner, 89 of Bremerton, Washington, Jan. 17, 1921 to March 14, 2010 Gertie passed away March 14th at Ashley Gardens due to complications of Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Berthoud, Colorado to Herbert and Nellie Peak. She moved to Bremerton as a young girl and graduated from Bremerton High School in 1940. The US Army Reserve comes to Thompson School District
Members of the 993rd Medical Detachment Veterinary Services came to Garfield Elementary School on Friday. The visit was the work of SPC Marissa Herbert, a member of the Army Reserve Unit and the mother of Garfield fourth grader Zalynn. Herbert said most of these kids have had no contact with people in the military and had many misconceptions. In a press conference on Wednesday, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce unveiled the 2010 Valentine Card and Valentine Cachet as well as a new “Sweetheart City” logo and a line of merchandise. The winning designs are a combination of efforts by several people. The designer of the Valentine card is Tracie Jenkins. This was Jenkins first time to enter the contest. Premier Gymnastics, Chicago Style
By Julee Graham Members of Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies participated this past weekend, in the largest gymnastic meet in the world, “Chicago Style,” in Chicago, Illinois. Over 4,ooo gymnasts from all over the country plus Mexico participated in the competition. Here are the results for the local girls. Bailie Holst, Level 10 Gymnast, won the All-Around title with a score of 36.825 in the 16yr. old Division. Holst placed 1st on Vault with a 9.5 and 1st on Beam with a 9.3. ... Full Story
