Two of the grandest shows on earth are taking place in Loveland this weekend as artists from all over the world converge on the Sweetheart City. The Sculpture in the Park show is in its 27th year and features over 170 artists and 2,000 pieces of sculpture. The venue is Benson Park and the hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Across the street at Loveland High School is the 19th Loveland Sculpture Invitational. Local soccer team takes the “Rushmore Cup”

The Club United Black soccer team from Thompson Soccer Association finished their season by winning the Rushmore Cup. The under 15-years of age team has players from Berthoud, Loveland, Windsor and Fort Collins, The team finished the Spring 2010 Season with a record of 5-3-1 earning fourth place in a field of 10 teams in its Colorado division. Beginning June 7 the new FLEX bus service will link Berthoud with Fort Collins, Loveland and the Longmont Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) bus connections to downtown Denver and Boulder. During weekday peak commuting hours in the morning and evening, an express route will serve primary stops between Fort Collins and Longmont, including a stop in Berthoud. LOVELAND— Starting at 7 a. m. on Monday, April 12th and continuing until 5 p. m. on Thursday, April 15th, weather permitting, the ramp from Crossroads Boulevard to southbound I-25 will be completely closed as part of the ongoing construction project at this interchange. Thompson School District names Rastatter to Special Education

Dennis Rastatter, Thompson School District director of Student Support Services, has been selected to become the new director of Special Education for the District. He will replace Karen Pielin, who is retiring at the end of the 2009-2010 school year. Rastatter has served as the director of Student Support Services for the district since 2005 and was the assistant director of Special Education from 2003 to 2005.
