Thompson Education Foundation names new executive
Kim Akeley-Charron has been named executive director of the Thompson Education Foundation beginning July 1. She is currently the marketing coordinator for the City of Loveland’s Cultural Services Department, where she has worked since 2003 in various capacities. Prior to that, she worked at the University of Denver Women’s College as the student services and special events coordinator, the Greenway Foundation and the Museum of Nature and Science, all in Denver. Dorothy Jean Sterkel, 81, of Loveland died on May 20, 2012 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. She was born on November 11, 1930 in Berthoud to John and Alice (Schriner) Schleuger. She married Samuel Edward Sterkel on September 5, 1948 in Loveland. Dorothy worked as a homemaker and for many years as the Head Cook at Berthoud Elementary School. Bailie Holst hits all four events at Level 10 Regionals in Bartlesville, Oklahoma Level 10 Gymnast, Bailie Holst, of Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies of Loveland, was selected to participate in the Junior Olympic Nationals, being held May 9-13 in Landover, Maryland.
