Scout Food Drive February 26, 2011 It is time for the annual Scouting for Food drive. In Southern Larimer County the food collected goes to the House of Neighborly Service for distribution to families in our area. Local Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts  will be in Berthoud neighborhoods to collect food for local families in need on Saturday February 26. Mabel M. Carter   1916-2011   (94) Mabel M. Carter passed away peacefully in her sleep early January 26, 2011, at Apple Leaf Assisted Living in Berthoud Colo. She was 94 years old. Mabel Marie Hansen was born on June 18, 1916, in Spencer Iowa to Peter M. and Mary Hansen. She was baptized at home beside her mother’s casket three days later. The First Presbyterian Church of Berthoud was filled with the sweet sounds of the violin on Saturday afternoon. Nathaniel Ver Steeg, a sophomore at Berthoud High School, treated listeners to Bach’s partita No. 2 in D minor and Bruch’s Concerto No.1 in G minor. Frances L. Prock of Berthoud, died October 26, 2010 at Northern Colorado Acute/Long Term Hospital, Johnstown. She was 73. Fran was born on October 5, 1937 in Great Falls, Montana to Otto Sagebaum and Lillian Laiture Sagebaum. Raised on the family ranch near Stockett, Montana, she was introduced to hard work at an early age.
