Cal Poly 6, Air Force 1 in men’s tennis

The Air Force men’s tennis team wrapped up competition on its spring break trip to Hawaii Friday with a 6-1 loss to 40th-ranked Cal Poly in Waipahu. The Falcons went 1-3 this week and are now 9-6 this season. The Mustangs took the doubles point with wins at the top two spots. AFA won the No. 3 match as freshmen Andy Jackson and Alex Grubbs downed Brian McPhee and Drew Jacobs, 9-8(5), at No. 3. Cal Poly won five of the six singles matches, four of them in straight sets. Hawaii 7, Air Force 0 in men’s tennis

The University of Hawai`i men's tennis team handed Air Force its second loss in as many days with a 7-0 win over the Falcons Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 3-8 on the season, while the Falcons fell to 8-5. Hawai’i opened with wins at all three doubles matches to claim a 1-0 lead. The closest match was at the No. 2 spot, where senior Taylor Soster and freshman Lucas Marin-Salcedo lost 8-7(3) to Jeremy Tweedt and David Schuster. In singles ... Full Story

AFA Women sweep tennis matches

The Air Force women’s tennis team swept a pair of matches Friday morning at the Academy. The Falcons downed CSU-Pueblo and Metro State, each by a 7-0 score, in the team’s final non-conference matches of the season. With the wins, Air Force improved to 14-4 this spring. The Falcons won all 12 singles matches in straight sets, including five 6-0, 6-0 scores, and did not lose more than two games in any of the six doubles matches.
