Wednesday’s Thompson Board of Education meeting began on a very special note. Quite apparent was the empty chair where Dennis Brietbarth normally sat. School Board member Dennis Brietbarth passes away
I received the following press release from Thompson School District this morning. I am deeply saddened by the loss. Dennis and I served together on the McKee Foundation board and we always visited at the meetings and at the Board of Education meetings. teachers for Thompson School District arrived at Mountain View High High School for a day of orientation on Thursday. The morning began with an introduction to the Thompson Education Association, the local teacher’s union and continued with district staff. New Principal at Conrad Ball Middle School
Scott Elias, assistant principal at Loveland High School, has been named interim principal at Conrad Ball Middle School. He is filling in for Sheila Pottorff, who will be interim director of Secondary Education for the 2010-2011 school year. Elias came to Thompson School District and LHS in 2007. May 3 to May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Week. The Thompson School District has several events that show teacher appreciation. Last week, the Thompson Education Association’s Crystal Apple Awards recognized some of the district’s outstanding teachers as nominated by their colleagues in the profession. This week, at the Board of Education meeting, students had the opportunity to name teachers they appreciated. Students were encouraged to write about a teacher and on Wednesday evening they ... An apple for the teacher
The Thompson Education Association (TEA) gathered at Loveland’s Chilson Center on Friday afternoon for the ninth annual Crystal Apple Awards. This year 16 teachers were nominated by their peers for their teaching excellence. The awards are given by the TEA with financial assistance from Goodwin Financial and Horace Mann insurance. Berthoud and Loveland Teams Compete at VEX World
Dallas, Texas (Action Works) April 25, 2010 – Colorado was well represented and had its best ever results at the 2010 VEX World Championships held in Dallas, Texas April 22 - 24. Three of the four teams were Berthoud and Loveland area teams, representing Berthoud High School (2 teams) and Bill Reed Middle School. Bashor named principal of Big Thompson Elementary Kellie Bashor, who has worked in administration as technology integration coordinator for Thompson School District since 2007, has been named principal of Big Thompson Elementary School pending Board of Education approval on May 5. She replaces Kendrick White, who was recently named principal of Van Buren Elementary School.
