The Little Thompson Observatory in Berthoud is hosting the LTO Open Golf Tournament on Saturday July 17, 2010 at Twin Peaks Golf Course in Longmont. The format is 4 person teams, best ball. The event starts at 8:00 AM with check-in beginning at 7AM.  Mulligan’s and putting string are available at extra cost. Earlier Friday, Alex Sadlo, nearly pinned in the first period, overcame a five-point deficit to pin Fort Lupton’s Matt Ornelas to advance to the semifinals of the 4A state wrestling championships at the Pepsi Center. Five Berthoud wrestlers qualify for state tournament

By Denise Schump The Berthoud Wrestling team took third place in the 4A region 1, 17 team, regional tournament held on Friday and Saturday at Greeley Central High School. Windsor chalked up the most team points (222.5), with Greeley West (185) coming in second, and Berthoud close behind with 172. After all the dust settled, five Spartan grapplers are heading off to battle it out at the Pepsi Center in the Annual State Wrestling tournament. Basketball playoffs at Berthoud

This note form Athletic Director, Mark Avery "As it looks right now, I believe that both the BHS boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting a game on Thursday, February 11th in the first round of the Northern Conference Basketball Tournament.  It is conceivable that we will also play one or more games on Saturday as well, but I have not run all of the scenarios yet.  Game times will be 5:30pm for girls and 7:00pm for boys. Spartan wrestlers get high marks at JFK Tournament

By Denise Schump The Berthoud Spartans took second place in the 25th annual JFK wrestling tournament in Denver on Saturday. Fifteen 4A and 5A teams took part in the competition with Berthoud coming out just 10 points behind their league rival, the Frederick Warriors. Eight Berthoud grapplers placed in the meet with three Spartans, Robbie Workman (130), Corey Ellis (160), and Casey Couch (189), taking home championship medals.
