Jason James Olinger of Timnath, Colorado passed away on December 17, 2011 at the age of 40. He was born in Bloomington, Illinois to Jack D. and M.J. Olinger. Three Berthoud teams of robotics whiz kids competed in the VEX Robotics World Championship at Disney World last week. Nearly 10,000 middle school, high school and university students from 16 countries participated in the event. Round Up, the 2010-2011 VEX Robotics Competition Game, is played on a 12’x12’ square field where two alliances composed of two teams each compete against one another. Tragedy in Berthoud

Slightly less that a year after the death of Alex Sabados, Turner Middle School students face yet another tragedy. The Sheriffs Department said that they were called to rural Berthoud on Friday morning to the scene of an unattended death. 71st State Spelling Bee Next Weekend

By Thomas N. On March 19, three students from Turner Middle School will travel to Denver to compete in the 71st Colorado State Spelling Bee. After placing in the top six at the Thompson School District spelling bee, Hanna Stippich, Olivia Conde and Ken Kubik have been given a chance to compete for the title of State Champion. The Berthoud Schools Fund (BSF) challenged Berthoud students to write about how the technology provided by the money raised at the last two Berthoud Bashes has influenced their education.
