Incident activity for November, 2013 Saturday, November 2 BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The crew was unable to find an incident. Monday, November 4 BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 near mile marker 250. This was a two-vehicle accident with no injuries reported. Fort Collins, CO – Winds are expected to increase today as crews continue to construct and secure fire lines along the perimeter of the fire. A Red Flag warning has not been posted for the burn area, though lower relative humidity and warmer temperatures are expected. The Crystal Fire began on April 1, has burned a total of 3,200 acres, and is 55% contained. Weather Continues to Cooperate 10 am Fort Collins, CO –The weather played a large role in helping firefighters yesterday with rain and snow developing over the fire area.  The downsides however were slick roads and potentially treacherous conditions.  Even with help from Mother Nature, the fire was still active beneath downed vegetation and snow with open flames occasionally seen.  With safety managers concerned for firefighters’ well-being, they were pulled off the line after ... Fort Collins, CO – Last night the Rocky Mountain Type I Incident Management Team under the direction of Paul Summerfelt, Incident Commander, assumed management of the Crystal Fire.
