The “Bean” is closed, Windy says goodbye
Citing the construction on Mountain Avenue, from which she never fully recovered, and facing another summer of construction, Windy Castle has called it quits. She told customers on Saturday that it was her last day. The business remains closed on Monday, but the sign on the door says the restaurant expects to reopen soon under new management. Jumping Bean celebrates five years
By Judy Lehn Windy and Bob Castle purchased the Jumping Bean Coffee House and Restaurant on Jan. 1, 2005. During the month of January 2010, they will celebrate their fifth anniversary with specials, decorations and lots of memories. Done especially for the celebration, Windy and her mother Rikki Dehner have adorned the walls of the coffee shop with pictures, newspaper articles and other memorabilia from their five-year journey as a Berthoud business.
