Thompson School District names two new administrators

Bashor named principal of Big Thompson Elementary

Kellie Bashor, who has worked in administration as technology integration coordinator for Thompson School District since 2007, has been named principal of Big Thompson Elementary School pending Board of Education approval on May 5. She replaces Kendrick White, who was recently named principal of Van Buren Elementary School.

Her responsibilities will be shared between being principal at Big Thompson and continuing as the lead in project development and phase implementation of Thompson On-line Education, a K-12 online school, which is scheduled to begin next fall.

Bashor has been with the district since 1997 and taught at Cottonwood Plains and Garfield elementary schools before transitioning to her current position. She received her BS in kinesiology from the University of Colorado and her MA in elementary education at University of Northern Colorado. She also completed the principal licensure program at Colorado State University.

Carmen Williams named Assistant Principal at Erwin Middle School

Carmen Williams, who has served as interim assistant principal of Erwin Middle School this school year, has been named assistant principal (AP) at Erwin Middle School pending Board of Education approval on May 5.

Williams started at Erwin as a math and language arts teacher in 2000, then continued teaching math. She was also a coach at Thompson Valley High School and an intramural coach at Lucille Erwin Middle School. She became athletic director in 2005 and was named interim assistant principal in October when the population at Erwin warranted another AP. The position was added for next year and interviews were conducted. She received her Bachelors in Education in mathematicsĀ from Black Hills State College, with a minor in biology. Her Master’s degree is from the University of Northern Colorado in sport and exercise science/sport administration. She received her principal licensure from Colorado State University.
