Senator Michael Bennet and Congresswoman Betsy Markey are two of the brightest, most dedicated, most thoughtful, and hardest working legislators in Congress today. Both of them are extremely well-qualified, and both have an amazing grasp of the details and implications of the bills they vote on.
Bennet and Markey have been in Congress only a short time, but already are known and respected by their colleagues on both sides of the aisle. They are leaders, rather than followers, and they are capable of leading this nation into a brighter future.
In this “throw the bums out” frenzy, it would be a shame to thoughtlessly discard the best. We must not reject two such talented people and the work they have done, only to start over with persons whose ability to function well in Congress is unknown.
We can be very proud of Senator Bennet and Congresswoman Markey. They richly deserve to be returned to Congress.
