‘Evening of Macabre’ at Wildfire
Something wickedly entertaining this way comes when the Wildfire Community Arts Center Readers bring to life some of history’s most gruesome tales and horrific musings in “Evening of Macabre.” A cast of hauntingly familiar local performers, co-directed by Berthoud’s own Kathleen Gruman and Lesley Jones, will lure you into a web of frightening (and amusing) literature spanning three centuries of the macabre — from witches and worms to the Prince of Darkness and the Twilight Zone. A little local mystery may even be revealed by local playwright Rick Padden, who co-narrates the show with sidekick Morticia (Gruman).

Featuring Peter Bridgeman, Paul Jones, sisters Kelly and Kat Jorgenson, Gary Maggi, Pam Strahan and Larry Westrum, “Evening of Macabre” will run 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, Saturday, Oct. 24, Thursday, Oct. 29 and Friday, Oct. 30 at Wildfire Community Arts Center, 425 Massachusetts Ave., Berthoud
Rated PG-13; Admission $10; Reservations recommended WildfireArtCo@hotmail.com [1] or call 970-532-5497. The most outrageously costumed audience member will win a prize. Go to www.WildfireArts.org [2] for more info.
