Incident Activity for October 2010


Friday, October 1

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. There were six vehicles involved in a rear end type accident. There was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries were reported.

Saturday, October 2

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Turner Avenue for a patient having chest pain. The patient was transported.

Sunday, October 3

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a person who had been kicked in the head by a horse. The patient was found lying in a field near Harmony Court. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to the Valley Dirt Rider track for an injured rider complaining of right side rib pain. The patient was transported.

Monday, October 11

BFPD assisted with a medical call on So. Iowa Avenue. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, October 12

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Cheyenne Avenue. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, October 13

BFPD responded to a medical call for diabetic complications. The patient was in a vehicle on the Interstate 25 frontage road. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Franklin Avenue for a sick person.  The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Thursday, October 14

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a sick person. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Lacoritz Street. The patient had fallen and was transported for further evaluation.

Friday, October 15

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on SW 49th Street. The crew was unable to detect any CO readings on the monitors.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near WCR 1 and WCR 48.  A controlled burn was found at 505 County Road 48.

Sunday, October 17

BFPD responded to a medical call on E. Highway 60 for a patient who had fallen. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a person having seizures in Grace Place Church.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Wales Drive. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Tuesday, October 19

BFPD assisted with a medical call on North First Street for a person who had accidentally cut his wrist with a power saw. The crew assisted TVEMS moving the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to 290 Mountain Avenue for a report of an electrical smoke odor. There were no signs of fire; the odor appeared to be from heaters being turned on for the first time this season. The building was left to the maintenance staff.

Wednesday, October 20

BFPD was called to a structure fire in the Lyons Fire District. Berthoud Fire assisted Lyons Fire with a residential structure fire on Jade Way. The crew provided firefighters for approximately two hours.

BFPD responded at the request of Berthoud Police to an ill patient inside his truck on Sixth Street. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Meining Road for a patient having breathing problems. The patient was transported.

Friday, October 22

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Weld County Road 4 and Highway 287. Drivers of both vehicles were injured and transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Ninth Street for a patient with diabetic problems.

Sunday, October 24

BFPD responded to a medical call on Weld County Road 5. The patient was transported.

Monday, October 25

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on West County Road 4 for a patient having chest pains. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Hubble Street for a patient having seizures. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with loading the patient for transport.

Wednesday, October 27

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Third Street and Mountain Avenue. There was minor front end damage to both vehicles and there were no reported injuries.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a possible stroke patient on Second Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, October 28

BFPD assisted a citizen on North County Road 19 with a faulty smoke detector needing new batteries.

Friday, October 29

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Weld County Road 36.  The crew found farmers performing a controlled agricultural burn which was under control.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 248. No injuries were reported.

Sunday, October 31

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a person with back pain on Glenview Drive.
