Press Release

October 22, 2010

After attending the Old Fashioned Political Rally at the Ranch on October 12, 2010, Robert Trucker(102560) of Brighton, Colorado, filed a report with Larimer County Sheriff’s Office on October 13, 2010,  that he had been assaulted the night before by Attorney General John Suthers.  The two had been in a discussion about a proposition on the November ballot.  An LCSO Lieutenant began an extensive investigation into the alleged incident.

Statements were taken from both Trucker and Suthers.  A video recorded with Trucker’s hand held video camera was reviewed.  Other witness statements were taken including one from an uninvolved witness who had read the article in the newspaper about the incident and came forward with a detailed account.  Neither the video recording nor any of the witness statements supported Trucker’s allegations.

Attorney General Suthers has been cleared of the assault allegation.  Further, Robert Trucker has been charged with False Reporting to Authorities, a class 3 misdemeanor and has been issued a summons.  He will appear in court on December 20, 2010.
