Incident Summary for December 2010

Wednesday, December 1

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident with very minor injuries on E Highway 56 and Weld County Road 5. The patient was treated and released on scene and BFPD assisted with traffic control.

BFPD responded to a report of a power line down at 415 Mountain Avenue. The area was searched and nothing was found. BFPD cleared the scene.

BFPD assisted a resident at 300 Victoria Street for a possible power surge. The home was checked and a circuit had been tripped. This was reset and the scene was cleared.

Thursday, December 2

BFPD cancelled a response to 300 Victoria Street. The “lifeline” unit had activated, but the resident called and stated that things were fine.

Friday, December 3

BFPD responded to a vehicle accident at S Taft at  S.W. 42nd Street. A car was found on its top. Berthoud assisted Loveland Fire with looking for the car’s occupant. Nothing was found and Berthoud Fire cleared the scene.

Saturday, December 4

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at SW 35th Street and Taft Avenue. Berthoud was cancelled in route when Loveland Fire arrived on scene.

Monday, December 6

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Fourth Street. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, December 8

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a person who had a severe cut on the hand and had driven to Station #1 for assistance. After the patient was assisted at the station he was transported by TVEMS.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Sundown Court for a patient having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

Thursday, December 9

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Mount Massive Avenue for a person having chest pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Maple Drive. The patient was transported.

Saturday, December 11

BFPD assisted TVEMS and Berthoud Police with a medical call on Bimson Avenue. The patient was transported.

Sunday, December 12

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for an unconscious person on Bianca Court. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 253. Berthoud Fire assisted Johnstown Fire with this two-vehicle accident with heavy damage to both vehicles. Extrication was needed for one vehicle; both doors and the roof were removed. There was one fatality as a result of this accident.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Fifth Street and Welch Avenue for a person who had fallen and received a laceration to the head. TVEMS transported the patient.

Friday, December 17, 2010

BFPD responded to a carbon dioxide alarm on E. Iowa Avenue. The crew searched with detectors but did not find elevated CO levels. The crew determined that the alarms were faulty.

BFPD crew responded to a residential fire alarm on E. County Road 8. One alarm in the residence was faulty causing all the detectors to activate.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Indiana Aveenue for a patient who had injured their arm from a fall on the ice. TVEMS transported the patient.

Monday, December 20, 2010

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical ca; at 1619 Hollyberry Drive. TVEMS transported the patient to the hospital.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at 1601 White Water Court. Berthoud Fire turned the scene over to law enforcement and cleared the scene.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical at 855 Franklin Avenue for a patient with a swollen arm. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a smoke/odor investigation at 1407 Oak Drive. Personnel investigated and talked with party about proper disposal techniques.

BFPD responded to a medical at 403 South Eighth Street for a patient complaining of chest and stomach pains. TVEMS transported the patient to the hospital.

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

BFPD responded to a medical situation at 301 Turner Avenue for a sick person. TVEMS transported the patient to the hospital.

BFPD responded to a medical call at 2180 W County Road 6 for a patient complaining of chest pains. TVEMS transported the patient.

Thursday, December 23, 2010

BFPD responded to a medical call at 407 Cheyenne Drive for a person choking. Patient was no longer choking, but was transported to the hospital for further assistance.

Friday, December 24, 2010

BFPD responded to a medical call at 5000 Glen Drive for a patient who fell. Berthoud Fire personnel checked for injuries and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call at 906 Fifth Street for a patient showing symptoms of a stroke. TVEMS transported the patient to the hospital.

BFPD responded to an unknown incident at 2180 W County Road 6. The family requested the patient be transferred and the scene was cleared.

Monday, December 27

BFPD responded to an airplane crash near Chimney Hollow Road southwest of Carter Lake. The Berthoud crew assisted Loveland Fire with extinguishing a grass fire that had grown to approximately two acres after a small plane had crashed into the hillside. The crew assisted until the fire was extinguished and the incident was turned over to the Larimer County Sheriffs for investigation.

Wednesday, December 29

BFPD assisted with a medical call on East Michigan Avenue for a patient having symptoms of a stroke. TVEMS transported the patient.

Thursday, December 30

BFPD responded to a rollover accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 249. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 249. This was a two-vehicle accident with moderate damage but no injuries.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Nebraska Avenue. TVEMS transported the patient.

BFPD responded to an accident near Longview Ave. involving a sixteen year old who was injured while sledding. TVEMS transported the patient.
