Incident Summary, February 2011

 

Tuesday, February 1

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance on West County Road 6. The homeowner reported an electronic flue control devise had malfunctioned and was burning. The crew located the valve for the gas supply and turned it off, extinguishing the fire.


Wednesday, February 2

BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a report of a vehicle that had left the roadway at the intersection of County Road 14 and County Road 23. One patient required extrication from the vehicle and was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. One patient was injured and transported.

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at the Berthoud Living Center. The water pipes had frozen and burst, therefore the sprinkler system had to be activated to release water pressure. The fire crew found no fire emergency.

BFPD assisted a homeowner with a water leak in their residence on Maple Drive.


Thursday, February 3

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on County Road 6 and U.S. Highway 287. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD assisted a homeowner with broken water pipes on Sixth Street.


Friday, February 4

BFPD assisted a homeowner with broken water pipes on County Road 23E.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The


Monday, February 7

BFPD responded to a fully involved fire on Sixth Street. A chicken coop was burning near other structures. The fire was extinguished and no other structures were involved.  A heat lamp near fresh straw was determined to be the source of ignition.


Tuesday, February 8

BFPD assisted with a medical on East County Road 2. The patient was transported.


Wednesday, February 9

BFPD responded to a medical for cardiac arrest on Welch Avenue. The patient was declared deceased at the scene.


Thursday, February 10

BFPD responded to a medical call at Fifth Street and Mountain Avenue for a person with a severe nosebleed. The crew assisted the patient until the arrival of TVEMS.


Friday, February 11

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hubble Street. Witnesses to the accident reported the vehicle had driven through approximately four backyards and fences before coming to a stop after hitting a parked car. The patient was back boarded out of the vehicle and transported emergent.


Saturday, February 12

BFPD responded to a medical call on West County Road 2 for breathing problems. The patient was transported.


Sunday, February 13

BFPD assisted a homeowner on Welch Avenue with turning off the water valve under the house. The homeowner had a broken water pipe.

 

Tuesday, February 15

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Arleigh Drive for a person having chest pain.  The patient was transported.


Wednesday, February 16

BFPD responded to a report of a person who had fallen through the ice at Roberts Lake. On arrival the crew found that the party had been able to get out of the water and was unharmed.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at the Valley Dirt Rider track.  Two patients were transported.


Friday, February 18

BFPD responded to a medical call on Erving Court for a person who had fallen. The patient injured their back and leg and was transported.

BFPD responded to a grass fire in the area of East County Road 8.  The fire was producing eight to ten foot flame lengths on approximately three acres. One structure in close proximity was protected.  Loveland Fire assisted with extinguishing the east side of the burning area.


Saturday, February 19

BFPD responded to a grass fire in the area of the 1500 block of Dove Haven Lane.  Approximately one quarter of an acre had burned when the fire was extinguished.

BFPD responded to a request on Nations Way for assistance with removal of a rattlesnake from their backyard. The animal control was notified to assist.

 

Tuesday, February 22

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Interstate 25 frontage road. One patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a patient on Douglas Place.

 

Thursday, February 24

BFPD responded to E. County Road 6C for a motor vehicle accident. The crew extricated the patient from the vehicle and assisted TVEMS with patient treatment.

 

Friday, February 25

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on North County Road 17 for two vehicles with minor damages and no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 southbound. There were no reported injuries or damage to the vehicle.

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on N. County Road 17. There was heavy damage to both vehicles and one patient was transported.

 

Saturday, February 26

BFPD responded to a medical call on Fourth Street for a person who had fallen on the ice and was complaining of hip pain. The patient was transported.
