Thursday, April 2

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for breathing problems on 42nd Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Nations Way with the smoke detectors in their residence. The batteries were replaced and the homeowners were advised to replace the detectors as soon as possible.

Friday, April 3

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. A full size truck was found with mild damage. The passenger was extricated from the vehicle and then TVEMS took over the patient care.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and CR 4. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Highway 287 and LCR 6 who had spun off the roadway due to icy conditions. There was no damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251 south bound. There was minor damage to both vehicles. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Bimson Avenue for a man who had fallen from a second story balcony. The man was not injured.

BFPD responded to a call for help in freeing a horse that was stuck in a panel on Blue Mountain Ave. When the crew arrived the horse had been freed.

Saturday, April 4

BFPD responded to a medical call for diabetic problems on Luvesta Court. The patient was transported.

BFPD and TVEMS assisted a patient who had fallen on Fourth Street. The patient was assisted back into his chair.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Valley Dirt Rider track.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Seventh Street. The patient was transported.

Sunday, April 5

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person with back pain on Cheyenne Drive. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on LCR 21.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Elmwood Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 248. This was a single vehicle rollover accident; the vehicle was on its side upon arrival. All parties were out of the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Monday, April 6

BFPD and TVEMs responded to a medical call on Second Street.

Tuesday, April 7

BFPD responded to a report of a large coolant spill on the roadway on Interstate 25. The crew cleaned the spill.

Wednesday, April 8

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Weld CR 5. The patient was transported.

Thursday, April 9

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a fall victim on Sherman Drive. The patient was assisted back into their chair.

BFPD responded to a general smoke alarm at a business on E. Highway 56. The alarm had been activated from the office copy machine that caught on fire.

BFPD responded to an incident on the Interstate involving a fluid leak and a woman needing medical attention. TVEMS responded and assisted the patient with medical care. The fire crew cleaned up the leak and assisted LCSO with traffic control.

BFPD and TVEMS assisted with a medical call on Welch Avenue, at the request of LCSO.

Friday, April 10

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for breathing problems on Second Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for an infant on LCR 13. The patient had possibly suffered a seizure.

Saturday, April 11

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near a structure on County Road 15. The crew found a small ditch burn that was under control.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a bicycle accident on Mountain Ave. The injured patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near structures on Sunbird Lane. This was a ¼ mile of ditch burning that had gotten out of control. Loveland Fire assisted BFPD and they staged on Nations Way to set up for potential structure protection. The fire was controlled and extinguished.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. The vehicles sustained moderate damage. One patient was transported for injuries. The fire crew assisted with traffic control and vehicle hazards.

Sunday, April 12

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for breathing problems at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a wildland fire on Yellowstone Road near Highlands Reservoir. One acre was burning in the trees near the reservoir. Large standing trees and large slash piles were affected by the fire. The crew extinguished the fire. Due to the extent of the fire the crew returned several times in the night to make sure the area was well contained.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Michigan Avenue.

Monday, April13

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call in the 300 block of McColm. The patient was not breathing and was soon declared deceased.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical for a possible stroke on Doyle Drive. The patient was transported.

BFPD and TVEMS assisted a citizen who had fallen on Second Street. The patient was not injured, but needed help back into his chair.

Tuesday, April 14

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Redwood Circle. The patient did not need to be transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS on a medical call for seizures on Yellowstone Road. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of power lines down on Weld County Road 42. The fire crew checked the power lines and transformers from WCR11 to WCR13 on WCR42 and nothing was found that looked to be down and arching.

Wednesday, April 15

BFPD responded to a small grass fire along a ditch at 2525 LCR 8. The crew found a 5’ x 40’ area of ditch on fire with a large cottonwood tree involved. The fire had extended 20 feet up the tree. The crew extinguished the fire and cleaned up any hot spots in the area.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for alcohol overdose on Welch Ave. The patient was transported.

Thursday, April 16

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for breathing problems on Second Street. The patient was transported.

Friday, April 17

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Sherman Drive for a possible stroke victim. The patient was transported.

Saturday, April 18

BFPD assisted a citizen with their malfunctioning smoke detectors on LCR 4.

Sunday, April 19

BFPD responded to a medical call with TVEMS and LCSO for an altercation resulting in minor medical problems.

Monday, April 20

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for seizures on Willow Drive. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, April 21

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. The driver/patient was injured and transported.

Wednesday, April 22

BFPD and TVEMS were called to a medical call for cardiac arrest at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was declared deceased following every effort of life saving practices were performed.

Thursday, April 23

BFPD responded to a single vehicle roll over on WCR 7. The vehicle was found on its wheels with moderate damage. The two occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. The fire crew stayed on scene to control traffic until investigation was complete.

Friday, April 24

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident with moderate damage on Highway 287 and LCR 6. One patient was injured but was not transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on City Lights Lane. This was a small 1 by 10 foot area on fire evidently caused by a lightning strike. The fire was extinguished.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for fainting on LCR 4. The patient was transported.

Saturday, April 25

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for chest pain on Weld CR 3. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a water dive rescue near Carter Lake Damn 1. While in route the crew was informed that this was a stranded boater with no parties in the water. The crew staged at the swim beach trying to locate the stranded boater. When there was confirmation that the boater was located the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a three vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. There was minor damage to all vehicles. There were no reported injuries. The fire crew cleaned up a small leak from the accidents and then cleared the scene.

Sunday, April 26

BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire in the area west of mile marker 252 near Interstate 25. The crew searched the area and nothing was found. It was determined to be blow-off from a drilling site located in the area of Weld CR 48 and 7, the flames being highly visible from the reported incident area.

Tuesday, April 28

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for breathing problems on LCR 21. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Iowa Ave. The fire crew used the monitor and found no signs of CO in the residence. The alarms were found to be faulty.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.

Wednesday, April 29

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for diabetic problems at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD responded to a reported structure fire on Longview Avenue. Upon arrival to the 2 story residential home there were no visible signs of fire. The homeowner led the crew to the backyard where a small fire had burned a hole in the deck. The fire had been extinguished. The fire crew found some signs of smoke on the nearby siding and was able to stop and control any further damage. The source of ignition was found to be from a stain rag that was left on the deck. The oily rag had spontaneously combusted and started the fire.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and CR 4E. The crew found two vehicles, both with heavy damage and both with airbag deployment, blocking northbound traffic. There were no injuries reported. One passenger was trapped in the vehicle due to damage to the door. The crew extricated the occupant from the vehicle. After assisting with traffic control and clearing the roadway of debris, the crew returned to station.

BFPD responded to a reported structure fire in the 800 block of Marshall Ave. The crew found that all parties had evacuated the structure. The homeowner then stated she had accidentally left food in the oven. Inside there was light smoke and a smell of burned food. It was confirmed that the fire was contained to the oven. The crew removed the oven.

Thursday, April 30

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. One vehicle was found on its side, and a semi truck and another vehicle were involved and both sustained moderate damage. One cow was also hit and was lying in the lane on the interstate. All parties were out of the vehicles and no injuries were reported other than the cow. The crew assisted with cleaning a leak on the roadway and with traffic control.
