Berthoud Fire Calls: December 2018

Saturday, December 1

BFPD was dispatched to the 4000 block of John Gault for a fall victim. A 37-year old woman had fallen and injured her ankle. TVEMS assumed patient care and the female was taken to a local hospital.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD was dispatched to the 800 block of Jay Place for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 3000 Megan Way for a medical. TVEMS arrived and the scene was turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to a single vehicle rollover on Larimer Cty Road 23E. The single occupant denied injury.  The scene was turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.

Tuesday, December 4

BFPD responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for
a fall victim. A 77-year old woman had fallen on Sunday and had hip pain. TVEMS
assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for
transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a
medical.

Wednesday, December 5

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 1000 block of 3rd
Street for abdominal pains for a 57-year-old woman. TVEMS assumed patient care.
The patient was loaded and transported to a local hospital.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 1000 block of Schofield
for a sick person. BFPD transferred care to TVEMS, and the crew assisted with
getting the patient into the ambulance for transport.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on Hwy 287 and Yellowstone
Road. A gulley in a field was smoldering. Once the fire was extinguished the
property owner apologized that he did not obtain a burn permit.

Thursday, December 6

Station 2 responded to the 2000 block of Martingale Drive
for a man having back pain. TVEMS assumed patient care and the patient was
loaded for transport to a local hospital.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the Berthoud Living
Center for a medical.

Friday, December 7

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 2000 block of S. Cty Rd
29 for abdominal pain. TVEMS arrived on scene and the 66-year-old male was
loaded for transport to a local hospital.

Saturday, December 8

BFPD was dispatched to the 10000 block of Yellowstone Road
for a 75-year-old woman having breathing problems. TVEMS arrived and assumed
patient care, the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Sunday, December 9

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 300 block of Iowa Avenue
for a fall victim. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with
loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of 4th Street for chest pains. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for transport.

Incident Activity Dec. 10-16

Monday, December 10

BFPD responded to the 800 block of 7th Street for
a medical. Upon arrival of TVEMS, the crew was cleared to respond to another
call.

Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 2000 block of Liken
Drive for a 72-year-old woman with chest pains. The patient was transported to
a local hospital.

Tuesday, December 11

Citizen assist to replace batteries in their smoke detectors
in the 1000 block of Woodcock Street. The smoke detectors were tested, and all
were working when the crew cleared scene.

BFPD responded to Hwy 56 for a 2-vehicle accident with
moderate damage. Squad 11 arrived and was assigned to traffic control. Engine 2
oversaw mitigation of vehicle hazards and fluids on the roadway. TVEMS assumed
patient care for both drivers with arm pain. 
Larimer Cty Sheriff initiated an investigation. The crews remained on
site until  the vehicles were loaded onto
the tow truck.

BFPD responded to a structure fire on Weld Cty Road 3. A
small single- story residence had active fire showing. Loveland Fire Engine 3
was assigned to attack. TVEMS stood by for medical. Crews pulled ceiling in a
couple different attic areas and confirmed there was no fire. The fire was
bench marked controlled and transitioned into overhaul. Engine 1 remained on
scene to provide lighting for the investigation, at which time it was decided
to resume investigation the following morning.

Wednesday, December
12

BFPD responded to the 800 block of Jay Place for breathing
problems. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the
patient for transport.

Thursday, December 13

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Parkway for fuel
spill less than 10 gallons. Vehicle hit an object in the roadway and his gas
tank was leaking. The crew found a truck on the southbound shoulder, a small
puddle of fluid was under his vehicle.  The
crew utilized absorbent to control the fuel that was on the roadway. Once the
hole in the tank was plugged the scene was turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 300 block of 42nd
Street SW for a stroke victim. TVEMS assumed command and Squad 11 was cleared.

Friday, December 14

BFPD responded along with TVEMS for chest pains in the 800
block of 10th Street. The crew assisted with loading of the patient
for transport.

Citizen assist in the 500 block of Capitol Reef Court. The
homeowner was having problems with their smoke alarms. It was discovered there
was possibly a faulty detector on the main level. All others were operating
normally. The homeowner was advised to have the faulty detector replaced
immediately.

BFPS responded to the 200 block of Redcloud for a sick
person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the
patient for transport.

Sunday, December 16

BFPD was dispatched to the 200 block of Victoria Street for
a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of
the patient for transport.

Monday, December 24

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of Cedar Drive for a sick
person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the
patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 700 block of 4th Street for
a fall victim. Squad 11 assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for
transport to a local hospital.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a
medical.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 800 block of Humboldt
Peak Lane for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with
loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 700 block of 4th Street for
a fall victim. Squad 11 assisted with loading of the patient for transport to a
local hospital.

Tuesday, December 25

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 1000 block of Larimer Cty
Road 21 for an 84-year-old having a seizure. TVEMS established patient contact
and did an assessment. The crew packaged the patient for transport.

Thursday, December 27

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 23000 block of Weld Cty
Road 1 for a fall victim. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with
loading the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 2000 block of Likens Drive for smoke
detectors that were chirping. The crew replaced and tested all the detectors in
the house and all were operating properly.

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of Crestridge Drive
for smoke detectors that were chirping. One detector in the hall needed to be
replaced. The homeowner was advised that it needed to be replaced. 

Citizen assist at Station 1 for a car seat installation.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 3900 block of S. Lincoln
for a male having a seizure. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted
with loading the patient for transport.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 3800 block of Hwy 56 for
a car that had run off the road. The patient was walked to the ambulance for an
assessment.

Friday, December 28

BFPD responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Monday, December 31

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of 4th Street
for breathing problems. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with
loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 2000 block of E. Indiana Avenue,
for a small smoldering fire on the top of a small hill in the park. The fire
was contained to the area of origin and there was no damage to property. Once
the fire was extinguished the scene was turned over to Larimer Cty Sheriff.
