Incident activity for November Berthoud Fire Protection District

Tuesday, November 1

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Brehm Road.

BFPD assisted a walk-in patient at Station 1 on Mountain Ave. The patient had sustained a contusion to the head. The patient was treated on scene then left to seek further treatment.

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Sioux Drive. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, November 2

BFPD responded to a report of power lines down on Weld County Road 5. Cones were placed to block the road until arrival of Poudre Valley REA.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and County Road 8. This was a two-vehicle accident with minor damage to both vehicles. One injured patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 7th St. The patient was unresponsive on arrival and was transported.

Thursday, November 3

BFPD responded to an odor of natural gas in a residence on Colorado Ave. After investigating the home and yard there was no source of odor found.

Friday, November 4

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Country Mountain Dr. The patient was transported.

Saturday, November 5

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd St. The patient was transported and the crew checked the house for leaking CO or other monitored gasses. The house was free of any monitored gas.

Sunday, November 6

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at Station 1 on Mountain Ave for a walk-in patient.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a transport for a patient at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD responded to an automatic aid for a structure fire in Loveland. The fire was quickly extinguished and the response was cancelled while Berthoud Fire was en route to the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical request on 2nd St. When TVEMS arrived, the patient was transported.

Monday, November 7

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Cottonwood Lane. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, November 8

BFPD assisted a walk-in patient at Station 1 on Mountain Ave.

BFPD responded to investigation an odor at a residence on Michigan Ave.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Welch Ave.

Wednesday, November 9

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 5th St.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident at 1700 N County Road 17. The crew found a single vehicle with moderate damage in the irrigation ditch. There were no driver or occupants found at the scene. The incident was turned over to the Colorado State Patrol for further investigation.

Thursday, November 10

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Sioux Dr.

Friday, November 11

BFPD responded to a medical call on Riverglen Way. The patient was found unresponsive and was transported emergent.

BFPD assisted Johnstown Fire with a structure fire on Weld County Road 42 and Weld County Road 15.

Saturday, November 12

BFPD assisted with a large animal rescue on S. County Road 27E. A horse was injured when  three legs caught in a cattle guard. The crew used hose and pike poles to loosen the animal’s legs. The crew stayed to assist the owner until the veterinarian arrived.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for an individual with seizures on Indiana Ave. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a small grass fire on S County Road 23E and W County Road 4. There were no structures threatened. The cause of the fire was a blown electrical transformer. Poudre REA was notified of the problem.

BFPD responded to a residence on Chapparo Circle for help with a slash pile that was smoldering from a previous burn. The crew extinguished the pile and stayed on scene until all the hot spots were cool.

BFPD responded to a medical call at Station 2 on W. County Road 8. A patient had been hit by flying debris and was knocked unconscious resulting in a large laceration on the back of the head. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to power lines down on 4th St. A power pole had broken at the base and was leaning into a tree. Xcel was notified to assist with the problem.

Sunday, November 13

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at Valley Dirt Rider track. One patient was injured and was transported.

Monday, November 14

BFPD was requested for mutual aid by Allenspark Fire for a structure fire at 10758 State Highway 7. The initial reports indicated that the structure was a three story camp retreat and convention center. Two trucks from Berthoud responded. One truck and crew were part of the fire attack and water supply group. The other truck and crew conducted salvage and overhaul throughout the incident. The Berthoud crew was at the scene for seven hours before being cleared by Operations.

Tuesday, November 15

BFPD responded to a grass fire reported on Interstate 25 at Mile marker 250. The crew was unable to find any grass fires in the area.

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm on 2nd Street. It turned out to be a false alarm.

Wednesday, November 16

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, November 17

The fire crew assisted TVEMS with lifting a patient at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a commercial alarm. Nothing was found, this was a false alarm.

BFPD responded to an automatic aid response with Loveland Fire for a grass fire on West County Road 14. Berthoud assisted with water supply and shuttle operations.

Friday, November 18

The fire crew assisted with a medical call on Branding Iron Way. The patient was having breathing difficulties.

BFPD assisted with lifting a patient at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to 2nd Street and Mountain Avenue to assist a patient.

BFPD responded to a medical call on south 9th Street for a patient who had fallen down a flight of stairs. The patient was transported for neck and shoulder injuries.

BFPD responded to a medical call on North County Road 13. A male had fainted and had lacerations to the head. The patient was transported.

Saturday, November 19

BFPD assisted with a medical call on 2nd Street for a person who was having breathing difficulties.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident with minor damage to three vehicles. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded with the LCSO to Soaring Peaks Drive for a person with possible diabetic problems.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to 2nd Street for a patient having chest pain. The patient was transported.

Sunday, November 20

BFPD responded to a reported gas leak at the Derby Grill Restaurant. The fire crew was unable to detect any source for the odor.

Tuesday, November 22

BFPD was requested by Berthoud Police to respond to a vehicle at the 4000 block of County Road 4 with a possible patient having a medical condition that was causing erratic behavior. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with assessing the patient and provided traffic control.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on 9th Street. The patient was having severe leg pain and was transported.

Wednesday, November 23

BFPD responded with TVEMS to the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who had fallen and injured their wrist. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with Berthoud Police to a reported trashcan on fire at the softball fields at Berthoud High School. The fire was extinguished and Berthoud Police ruled the fire to be arson.

Thursday, November 24

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD also responded to a motor vehicle accident at mile marker 253. Two patients were injured and the crew assisted with transporting.

BFPD received a call reporting an occupied vehicle was in the ditch near the Little Thompson River. The vehicle had minor damage and the occupant was uninjured.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on County Road 15. A car had hit a tree and the patient was found unconscious but breathing.  The fire crew extricated the occupant and the patient was transported.

Friday, November 25

BFPD responded to the general area of Weld County Road 3 and Highway 56 for a reported vehicle fire. This was a fully involved fire in a van type vehicle.  The fire was extinguished and the source of ignition appeared to be a faulty fuel line.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Taras Court. The patient care was transferred to TVEMS upon their arrival.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 4 and Highway 287.  This was a T-bone type accident with minor damage and no injuries. The fire crew assisted with traffic control.

Saturday, November 26

The Berthoud fire crew responded to a report of a grass fire near the Interstate at mile marker 248. After investigation along the interstate, nothing was found.

Sunday, November 27

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Southview Road. The residence was thoroughly searched and nothing was found. It was determined to be a problem with the carbon monoxide detector.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. There were no injuries reported.

The fire crew was notified of a motor vehicle accident on the Interstate frontage road and Weld CR 44. This was a two vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries.  The crew controlled the coolant leak of the involved vehicle, removed debris from the roadway and controlled traffic at the scene.

Monday, November 28

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second St. The patient was having breathing difficulties and was transported.

The fire crew assisted TVEMS with moving a patient at the Berthoud Living Center.

Tuesday, November 29

BFPD responded to a mutual aide request by Loveland Fire for a multi family dwelling on Jefferson St. in Loveland. The Berthoud crew assisted with salvage and overhaul of the primary exposure in the apartment.

BFPD crew responded with TVEMS for a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. This turned out to be a false alarm.

BFPD crew responded to a medical call on Chapparo Circle.  The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

The fire crew responded to a reported two-vehicle accident at mile marker 248 on Interstate 25. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, November 30

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who had fallen out of bed.  The patient was not hurt and was lifted back into bed using the lift.

Berthoud Fire assisted with a medical call on Longs Peak Ave for a young patient who had fainted.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Nations Way.
