Friday, June 1

Citizen assist at Station 1 for installing a car seat. The Technician instructed the parents on the correct use of the child restraint system.

BFPD responded to the 500 block of Gateway Blvd for a man having an asthma attack. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to I-25 mm 252 NB for a RV fire. After looking at the cause it was clear that the tire had been rubbing the fender well, melted the tire and created molting rubber to adhere to the inside of the fender well. The hot rubber then ignited a small molting rubber fire. The fire was extinguished and the Weld Cty Sheriff called for a tow truck.

Saturday, June 2

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to I-25 mm 250 NB for a non-injury motor vehicle accident. Engine 1 crew checked for hazards and, other than being stuck in the median cable, there were none.

Sunday, June 3

BFPD responded to the 500 block of Redwood Circle for a 90-year-old man having diabetic problems. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD responded to the 4400 block of Hawg Wild Road for an unattended smoldering grass pile. The crew extinguished the fire.

Monday, June 4

Berthoud Fire responded to a cut gas line in the 500 block of Mt. Rainier Street. The homeowner stated he was digging fence posts and hit a gas line. Excel arrived, they dug up the line and secured the leak.

Thursday, June 7

BFPD was dispatched to the 400 block of Nebraska Avenue for an 88-year-old woman who had fallen. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 400 block of Larimer Cty Road 27E for a 69-year-old man who was unconscious. The patient care was transferred to TVEMS upon their arrival. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Engine 16 responded to West Larimer Cty Road 6 for assistance in putting a fire out. Dry Creek Ditch Company was burning a slash pile and was not able to extinguish the fire. The crew fully extinguished the fire and turned the area back over to the ditch company.

BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Friday, June 8

BFPD responded to the 6700 block of Larimer Cty Road 8 for a single motorcycle down. Larimer Cty Parks was on scene controlling traffic. The motorcycle had moderate damage with the rider conscious, breathing and semi alert. TVEMS assumed patient care. The patient was loaded and transported.

Saturday, June 9

Berthoud Fire responded to I-25 mm 252 NB for a 2-vehicle accident with moderate damage. One of the vehicles was on the shoulder of the roadway on its roof. All occupants appeared to be out of the vehicles. The driver of the second vehicle stated that he was not injured. Engine 1 mitigated roadway hazards. Colorado State Patrol arrived on scene.

Sunday, June 10

BFPD was dispatched to the 400 block of Mountain Avenue for a 80-year-old man with a nose bleed. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for transport.

Incident Report for June 11-17

Monday, June 11

BFPD responded to the 3500 block of Lissa Drive for a 2-vehicle accident. Both vehicles had moderate damage. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the crew assisted with loading a 70-year-old man for transport.

Citizen assist for changing batteries in 6 smoke detectors on Redcloud Drive.

Tuesday, June 12

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to I-25 mm 250 NB for a motor vehicle accident; a semi had rear-ended a Toyota 4 runner and caused light damage. All parties were out of the vehicles, one patient was transported. Colorado State Patrol arrived and took over command.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Weld Cty Road 5 and Hwy 56 for a 2-vehicle accident. There was moderate front-end damage to a box truck and light damage to a Coca Cola vehicle. No hazards were found and there were no reported injuries. Larimer Cty Sheriff deputies arrived and started their investigation. The crew continued with traffic control. Engine 2 cleared once vehicles were cleared from the roadway.

Wednesday, June 13

BFPD responded to the 4800 block of Larimer Cty Road 4 for a 74 -year-old woman who was not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with obtaining vitals and loading the patient for transport.

Thursday, June 14

Berthoud Fire responded to a mulch pile fire in the 600 block of Larimer Cty Road 21. Engine 26 was assigned to extinguish the smoldering fire.

Friday, June 15

Berthoud Fire responded to the 900 block of Eagle Pass Road for a person with breathing problems. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to Larimer Cty Road 8 for a single vehicle accident in front of Station 2. The driver was still inside the vehicle and no other people were involved. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire responded to Rabbit Mountain for a wildfire threatening structures in Lyons. Command had us on structure protection. Command was then terminated when the fire settled for the evening.

Saturday, June 16

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 300 block of 8th Street for a 1-year-old boy with breathing problems. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Sunday, June 17

BFPD was dispatched to the 4300 block of Page Place for a cut gas line. Engine 1 stretched a hand line for flash protection for Excel Energy.

BFPD responded to the 4000 block of John Gault Drive for a 63-year-old man having chest pains. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient evaluation.

Monday, June 18

Berthoud Fire responded to the 200 block of Sioux Drive for a lift assist.

BFPD was dispatched to the 500 block of 9th Street for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1000 block of Monroe Avenue for a 76-year-old man who was not conscious. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 800 block of Eagle Pass Road for an 83-year-old woman having chest pains. The crew assisted with the loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of Bein Street for a 65-year-old woman having a diabetic attack. Once the patient was coming around, TVEMS advised the crew they could clear.

Tuesday, June 19

BFPD responded to the 600 block of SW 42nd Street for a sick person. The crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 1600 block of Mt. Meeker Avenue for a sick person. The patient was loaded for transport.

Wednesday, June 20

BFPD was dispatched to the 400 block of Mccolm Street for a 70-year-old man having chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 251 NB for a 3- motor vehicle accident with moderate damage. All parties were out of the vehicles with non-injuries. The crew utilized absorbent and brooms to clean up a small fluid spill and debris from the roadway. TVEMS reported to a 4th vehicle just south of the initial accident. The driver was packaged and loaded for transport. Colorado State Patrol moved the accident to the Berthoud exit to clear the interstate. Command was terminated.

BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of Bein Street for a lift assist.

BFPD responded to the 17000 Weld Cty Road 3 for a lift assist.

Thursday, June 21

Citizen assist at Station 1 for a car seat installation.

BFPD responded to County Road 8 and County Road 19 for a cut gas line. Larimer Cty Sheriff’s deputies helped with road closure while Excel clamped the line. The line stopped leaking and Excel advised the crew they could re-open the roads.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1700 block of Hwy 56 for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

BFPD was dispatched to the 700 block of 6th Street for a main power line that was arching. The crew spoke with the homeowner and found the junction box that had caught on fire. All breakers were shut off and Xcel energy was called. The homeowner said they would keep an eye on the electrical equipment until Xcel arrived. With nothing currently presenting a hazard, Engine 1 cleared scene.

Friday, June 22

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Water Treatment Plant for a cut gas line. Xcel Energy had already been notified and was en route. The crew pulled a protection line and monitored the area utilizing the gas monitor. Xcel was shown the location of the leak, and Engine 1 was released.

BFPD was dispatched to the 900 block of Berthoud Parkway for a 96-year-old woman not feeling well. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for transport.

Saturday, June 23

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to I-25 mm 251 for a 3-vehicle accident. Three vehicles had been damaged when a large diameter water pipe connection had fallen from a truck into the roadway. A pick-up and motorcycle had flat tires and the object had struck the oil pan of the car. All vehicles were inoperable, and the crew mitigated a fluid leak from the car.

Sunday, June 24

BFPD was dispatched to Hwy 56 for a 2- vehicle accident on the frontage road. All parties were out of the vehicles with no injuries. The crew stayed on scene blocking traffic until the tow trucks cleared the roadway.

Incident Activity June 25-July 1

Monday, June 25

BFPD responded to the 1600 block of S. Cty Road 21 for a 92-year-old woman who was not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to 1st Street for a female who had fallen on the sidewalk and was bleeding from the back of her head. The crew assisted with loading her in the ambulance for transport.

BFPD responded to the 400 block of E. Cty Road 8 for an illegal burn. The homeowner was burning furniture within 20 feet of a structure. The crew explained some of the rules and regulations on open burning. The fire was extinguished.

Tuesday, June 26

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 4300 Page Place, for a 73-year-old man who had signs of a stroke. TVEMS assumed patient care and the patient was then loaded and transported.

Berthoud responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Michigan Avenue for a CO detector activation. The homeowner informed the crew that he had been having trouble with his hot water heater. He also had been running the house fans with doors and windows shut. The crew also found the upper combustion air intake plugged with a role of paper towels. The house was ventilated of CO and the homeowner informed that the ventilation system needed to be inspected by a qualified HVAC tech prior to running it again.

Wednesday, June 27

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of Gaucho Court for a 63-year-old not feeling well. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Citizen assist to the 4600 block of Foothills Drive to replace batteries in a smoke detector. Also checked the manufacturer date to make sure it wasn’t an expired detector. All smoke detectors were tested and working properly when Engine 2 cleared.

BFPD was dispatched to the 3900 block of Rainbow Lane for a person with abdominal pains. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Citizen assist at Station 2 for a car seat installation.

Friday, June 29

BFPD responded to the 500 block of 7th Street for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient.

Berthoud Engine 1 was dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a seizure. TVEMS made contact with the patient and advised the crew that they could cancel.

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of N. Cty Road 15C for a medical. The patient stated they had wanted to be transported. The crew assisted with loading of the patient.

Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 300 block of Weld Cty Road 48 for an 8-month-old boy not breathing. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.

Saturday, June 30

BFPD was dispatched to the 900 block of 5th Street for a sick person. The crew assisted TVEMS with packaging and loading of the patient.

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD responded to the 900 block of Welch Avenue for a 94-year-old female with hip pain from a fall. TVEMS determined transport was necessary, the crew assisted with loading of the patient. Engine 1 cleared scene and went available.
